Awareness // International Student Volunteers

Around this time of the year, interested students (or young adults) look into traveling with an organization to volunteer around the world. Since I have had many messages or questions about where and how to get involved, I decided to do a post on it. My hope is to raise awareness about various organizations (two of which I have gone away with) in order to inspire you to plan a trip of your own and volunteer. The first one I would like to share is called International Student Volunteers, which is an American company. I had an amazing experience to Thailand with them as we spent two weeks at an orphanage (photos above) and two weeks traveling the country. I highly suggest looking into this organization if you’re looking to volunteer as well as travel.

Hope this information helps you decide on a volunteer trip as it is a life changing experience. Feel free to post any questions in the comment section below!

30 Gifts To 30 Strangers In Sydney, Australia

I was recently sent this short video titled “30 Gifts to 30 Strangers in Sydney, Australia,” which was filmed and edited by Lucas Jatoba (as well as Melanie Hogan and Marcelo Maluf). Lucas’ description, as follows, is truly inspiring:

“Hello! My name is Lucas and I’m Brazilian. Since I arrived in Australia a lot of beautiful things happened in my life, so on the day I turned 30 I decided to celebrate in a special way, being grateful to the people of Sydney. Thank you so much to all my friends who helped make this happen, without you it would not have been possible. And thank you to everyone who lives in Australia, making this country such a wonderful place. A big hug, Lucas.”

As a young adult, who aspires to inspire others on a daily basis, I truly appreciate Lucas’ initiative to make a difference in other peoples lives. From the Fresh Train team, and myself personally, thank you for inspiring me today.
